Hi There! I’m Rachel,
but you can call me Rae.
I am a Certified Holistic Doula & Somatic Bodyworker with a deep passion for supporting individuals & families through life’s most transformative journeys.
Since 2017, I have attended over 100 births and supported countless postpartum clients as they step into parenthood. This work is not just my profession–it’s my calling.
How did I end up here?
It’s wild where life takes you. I started my collegiate career at Stanford University, where I was a D1 lacrosse athlete studying sustainable agriculture—far from the path most people would expect from a passionate birth supporter! But it was there that I began to see the disconnect between the life we’re conditioned to live and the deep knowledge found in nature.
After a year of hands-on learning at local farms, I realized the value of connecting to nature in a deeper, more embodied way. It was there, immersed in the natural world, that I began to realize a beautiful truth: our bodies, like the earth, hold an ancient wisdom—often buried beneath the noise of daily life. This understanding led me to a deeper exploration of holistic health and birth work, where I discovered my true purpose.
This realization shifted everything.
In the years since, I’ve woven together this grounded understanding with my academic background in Medical Anthropology, creating a practice that bridges scholarly insight with the deep, instinctive knowing of body and earth. My work draws from both intellectual depth and a profound connection to the body’s rhythms, supporting each family’s unique needs as they navigate the transformative journey of birth and beyond.
Birth is both science and art. It’s a primal experience, one that shapes our lives in ways we often don’t see until later. Our birth experience lays the foundation for how we move through life, how we relate to our bodies, our communities, and even our sense of self-worth. That’s why I’m dedicated to supporting families through this sacred and transformative process, helping to nurture the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit.
I work as a birth and postpartum doula
because how we birth matters.

While much of my focus is on supporting new families, I am also passionate about strengthening the bonds of couples. Please inquire through scheduling a consultation.
Rooted in deep mentorship with Jack Zimmerman (therapist and author of The Way of Council), my approach integrates council practices, relationship psychology, and insights from thought leaders like Esther Perel. I’ve supported many couples in strengthening their connection as they transition into parenthood, recognizing that relationships are the foundation of family life. Many of us were not modeled healthy relationships—my work helps couples build a strong, united team with compassion and intention.

Permaculture invites us to approach life and land with a holistic, sustainable mindset. This perspective extends beyond gardening and agriculture—it informs how we build resilient systems, whether in nature, communities, or families. I incorporate these principles into my work by supporting families through sustainable practices that honor both the environment and the human experience. By blending permaculture’s wisdom into birth and postpartum care, I encourage a balanced approach to nurturing the growth of individuals and families—grounded in respect for the interconnectedness of all life.
Certified in Permaculture Design through Findhorn and in Earth Activist Training by Starhawk.
